Refreshing alternative for tiramisu – a strawberry one!

It’s Monday evening. We all truly hate Mondays, don’t we? ;) Here is an amazing recipe that will cheer you up quickly. And don’t worry, it won’ take long hours to put a smile on your and your loved ones faces. It’s Monday, we suffered enough :)

To make this fruity tiramisu, grab the following items at your grocery shop;

  • 2 packages of lady fingers;

ladyfingers,tiramisu

  • freshly squeezed juice from two oranges

fresh oranges,fresh orange juice

  • 1 bottle of strawberry sauce
  • 500 ml whipping cream
  • 500 g Italian mascarpone

Italian mascarpone,mascarpone for tiramisu

  • 60g icing sugar (sugar will do as well)
  • 500 g fresh strawberries

fresh strawberries,sweet strawberries
This variation of fruity, soft and refreshing tiramisu is one of the quickest recipes I know, and it always works because it does not require baking at all.

Method;

Whip the cream together with the icing sugar till stiff peaks.
Then mix it with the mascarpone until you have a moussy mixture.
Now, mix the fresh orange juice with the strawberry sauce and deep the ladyfingers in it. If you don’t have enough mixture, make some more. Avoid over dipping¬†¬†because they will get soggy.
Place a layer of the ladyfingers in your tin or a bowl. Then spread the layer of the mascarpone/ cream mixture. Add a layer of strawberry slices on top. Repeat until you have reached the edge.

Now, the longest part: leave to stand in the fridge for at least 1 hour. Before serving, you can sprinkle some cacao powder on top, but I prefer to keep it strictly fruity :)
